Four existing National Marine Sanctuaries in California already protect and restore about 40% of the state’s coastal waters and marine wildlife, with planned expansions increasing this to about 50% during 2014.
Salish Sea wildlife (and humans!) living throughout the Salish Sea Watershed would benefit greatly from similar—or even better—protection and restoration of water quality and other best practices.
